The user’s requirements for a smartphone have changed? Users perhaps want a more convenient way to show off their pictures or videos on their smartphones while on the go, thus there is a need for a smartphone to come with built-in projector.


Samsung has announced the Samsung Galaxy Beam at the MWC 2012, which is dubbed as the world’s thinnest projector phone, measuring at 12.5mm in thickness. The 12.5mm is definitely much thicker than a number of existing Samsung smartphones, but the Beam packs a built-in projector which is simply handy for you to show off any pictures or videos on your phone on the go. It’s also useful for business users which they can carry our their presentations right on their phone. Some more, playing games on a wide projection screen might be more fun.

The Samsung Galaxy Beam is equipped with a 4-inch WVGA screen, runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, packs a 5MP camera, a 1GHz dual-core processor and an internal 8GB of memory that’s expandable via microSD card slot.

ZTE Mimosa X Smartphone

ZTE has also announced a new Android smartphone called the ZTE Mimosa X. The handset will come with the latest Android 4.0 ICS OS and feature a 4.3 inch qHD display which offers a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.

The Mimosa X Android smartphone also has a 5MP rear-facing camera, and it seems more to be targeting the mid-range market. Other details of the ZTE Mimosa X are still lacking. MWC 2012 should have more information revealed for this handset.
